Working as a Tour Guide in Turkey

GUEST SPEAKER:
Katerina has been working abroad since the age of 18. She spent her first two years working as a tour guide in Turkey and Greece, and she'll share her personal experience of what the job is really like.
Being a tour guide often sounds like a dream job: sunshine, travel, beautiful places, and meeting people from all over the world. But what's really behind the scenes? How do tour guides get hired, what kind of training do they receive, and what challenges do they face every day?

💬 During this meeting, we'll discuss:
  • how tour guides are recruited;
  • what their training looks like;
  • different types of tour guide positions in the destination country;
  • a typical day in the life of a transfer guide;
  • what it's like to work as an excursion guide;
  • why stress management is one of the most important skills for the job and how guides handle unexpected situations.
